New Song Release: A Song for Mom "Helen"

Los Angeles 1965

(Circa 1953)

In the heart of downtown Los Angeles, in the year 1945, a remarkable woman entered the world. Her name is Helen, my mom. She was the youngest among seven siblings, navigating the gritty streets of rundown Los Angeles with resilience and grace. Despite growing up with little, her life is a testament to the abundance found in simplicity.

My mom's stories of her upbringing paint a vivid picture of her determination and spirit. She instilled in me a profound belief that amidst suffering, there is safety; in loss, there is opportunity; in loneliness, there is companionship; and despite hatred, there is love.

As I sat at the piano and thought about my mom, these were the notes, chords, and melodies that came to me. As I reflect on the outcome of the piece, I can hear her simplicity, her tenderness, her innocence, and above all, her boundless love.

This composition isn't just a song; it's a tribute to the woman who taught me that even in life's harshest moments, love remains the guiding light. It's a homage to Helen, my mom, whose unwavering love continues to inspire me every day.
